About Us

Our mission is to serve nutritious and high-quality meals to the underprivileged communities of India We are creating a meaningful and tangible change in our society with the food we serve through our donation programs.

  • The situation of hunger in India has been made worse by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • With the country battling widespread hunger, a staggering 14% of India’s population is undernourished.
  • Currently standing in the 94th position among the 107 countries, our country has a GHI score of 27.2, indicating acute hunger.

A majority of India’s population still lacks access to one square meal a day. As one of India’s most active food NGOs, Annamrita has resolved to liberate the underprivileged communities from the vicious cycle of poverty by serving them nutritious meals. We aim to provide nutritious meals to various sections of our society and help them tackle undernourishment.

Every year 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted globally which causes $750 billion worth economic losses and a colossal damage to the environment. Food waste is intact energy resource that ends up rotting away in landfills which emits greenhouse gases in the environment, heating atmosphere thus leafing to climate change. Wastage of food at such a massive scale is a result of negligence on the part of individuals, society, nation, and the world. In this paper We try to expand into various aspects that lead to the wastage of food, as per the various industries.

  • I am a corporate/trust, how can we partner with your organisation?

    We are always open to corporate NGO partnerships. We already have several leading corporates partnering with us through corporate donations and helping us in our visions. If you are a corporate, you can set up volunteer drives, help us set up new kitchens, sponsor vehicles for food donation and insulated food containers, or sponsor mid day meals for government school children.

  • Currently, Feed Me Foundation is present only in India. We don’t have an overseas presence. However, people willing to donate to Feed Me, can donate to charity from anywhere in the world by visiting Our Donation section.

  • Feed Me requires NGO volunteers and has several job vacancies from time to time. To join us as an employee and become a part of Feed Me, you can send your CV and cover letter to hr@feedme.org. Let us know why you want to work for an non-profitable organisation like ours, and we might just take you in!

  • We accept any kind of food, we just need to know details concerning food type, like if its raw or cooked, packaged, hot or cold, and how much there is. Our algorithm pairs specific food donations with available drivers and recipient locations.

  • As a part of our food recovery process, we are collecting samples of each food to check its freshness with odour, texture and taste. We ensure the quality of the food during collection and distribution to the needy and we avoid collecting certain menus such as coconut added items, curd/butter items since they spoil at a faster rate. Also, we are developing an optimum cost effective technology solution for testing the food quickly to start immediate distribution as the existing techniques are taking more time.
